Angamaly magistrate court closes Dileep plea on leakage
Observes that interests of both victim and accused should be protected.
KOCHI: The Angamaly magistrate court on Friday closed the petition submitted by actor Dileep in connection with leaking of the chargesheet against him in the actor abduction and assault case. The court cautioned Biju Paulose, the investigation official, for the leakage of the content of the chargesheet to the media. The court also observed that the interests of both the victim and the accused should be protected by the investigation team.
Dileep, the eighth accused, had approached the court alleging that the investigation officials had deliberately leaked the content and that action should be taken against them. Dileep is also planning to approach the court demanding the copy of the visuals of the assault against the actress.
He has accused the investigation team of playing a hide-and-seek game without providing him the important documents connected with the case. Earlier, counsel for Dileep had examined the visuals of the attack against the actress, submitted by the probe team, in the chamber of the magistrate. The team had failed to recover the original footages of the attack.
