Keerthi Suresh in Bollywood
Maidaan is a biographical sports drama based on the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.
After proving her mettle in and as Mahanati, National Award-winning actor Keerthi Suresh has gained entry to Bollywood as the heroine of Ajay Devgn. It will be through Maidaan, a film that will represent the glorious decade of Indian football, that Keerthi will make her Hindi debut.
Maidaan is a biographical sports drama based on the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is also known as the architect of modern Indian football. The coach, who trained his team to reach the semifinals of the Olympic football tournament in 1956, led the Indian team during the glorious years of the game in India. Keerthi reportedly plays Rahim’s wife in the film.
The film directed by Badhaai Ho-fame Amit Sharma also features Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh and is produced by Boney Kapoor. It will be shot in Jakarta, Italy and Melbourne. Maidaan is expected to hit the screens next year.
