Parthiban, a one man show
While Kollywood stars thirst for unique scripts, Parthiban always has something special up his sleeve and this time it is Oththa Serupu Size 7.
Artistes or audience, all love watching a new story or plot unravel on screen. And Parthiban’s new venture is set to deliver a completely modish visual experience. His upcoming film maybe written, directed and produced by him but the USP of the film is that it is a solo act film starring Parthiban himself. Oththa Seruppu Size 7 has cinematography by Ramji (known for films like Aayirathil Oruvan), music by Santhosh Narayanan and sound by Resul Pookutty.
Only 12 solo act films have been made so far around the world. Among them, the only Indian film was Sunil Dutt’s Yaadein which was released in 1964. The film was a huge success. After 55 years, Parthiban has launched this solo masterpiece which has already created a huge buzz amid the audience. Script-writing for movies is not new for Parthiban but this time he has also promoted the film in a unique way. Movie stars like Rajinkanth, Aamir Khan, Mohanlal, Mamooty and Chiranjeevi have wished Parthiban for this film.
Rajinikanth said the film is a first of its kind in world cinema; Parthiban has carried each act deftly on his shoulder. People have made solo act films with the help of technicians in the past but definitely not like this. He also wished the film would win an Oscar.
The one-minute gripping visual teaser of Oththa Seruppu Size 7 reveals it is a murder mystery. But, the reason the teaser has set social media buzzing is because it features a single actor.
Parthiban feels that if the content of any movie plot is not creative, it will bounce back from the audience, as, “People always prefer something unusual or unfamiliar. This film has that and even the rural audience will enjoy it.”
The actor has a repertoire of over 60 films and has been a part of the industry for more than two decades.
