Time to stand united, says Mohanlal on Uri

Kochi: Actor Mohanlal has termed the attack on Indian soldiers in Uri by Pakistan-backed terrorists a shameless act of cowardice and said the whole world will bow to an awakened India. “An act of terrorism is shameful,” he said in his blog on Wednesday. “The martyred soldiers are strangers to me but I can feel the pain of the loss their families suffered. I can visualise their small houses, and the dreams they dreamt there. I share their loss as mine.”
Mohanlal, known for penning his thoughts on occasions, recalled his familiarity with Kashmir. “I have visited Kashmir before and I know the terrain and how difficult it is,” the honourary Lieutenant Colonel with the Territorial Army said he is no war monger but “I am not a person who will ignore an enemy attack.”
Taking a dig at the attempts to politicise the issue, Mohanlal said that it was not fair to discuss petty politics when the enemy attacked our country. “By doing so we are ridiculing the lives of those soldiers who fought for our country,” he wrote. People fighting each other over caste, creed and politics in the wake of Uri attack are an equally shameful lot. Mohanlal ended his blogpost, titled Amar Jawan Amar Bharath, calling for unity among all Indians in the face of a serious threat from the enemy.
