Thrissur: The investigation team probing the mysterious death of actor Kalabhavan Mani has sent his viscera and blood samples collected after and before his death to Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad to know the exact amount of pesticide and methanol, sources said.

Though the Regional Analytical Laboratory in Kakkanad had found traces of chlorpyrifos and methanol in his viscera, the investigating officers were unable to get confirmation from the doctors on the amount of the poisonous substances and that it led to the death.

The investigation team has indicated that the possibility of murder was very less after questioning the three close aides and cross-examining their statements.
Meanwhile, father of one of them, Arun of Chalakkudy, who is in police custody for the past six days, expressed concern on Tuesday over detaining his son for such a long time without registering arrest and producing before the court.
