Abid Anwar easily juggles two different hats with ease, seamlessly switching between the real life roles of a singer and an actor. Busy with his band and stage performances, he takes care to devote equal time to his acting career as well. The latest news from the young actor is that he will be part of an Independent Hindi movie, Rani Rani Rani, which is a first for him. It is an understatement to say that Abid is over the moon. Informing that the shooting of the film winded up in July, he says, "It was a casting director from Mumbai who was instrumental in giving me a chance. I had worked with her in three ads and she had suggested my name to the director Rajaram Rajendran. Fortunately for me, he had seen my work and asked me to come for an audition which I passed.” As the name implies, Rani Rani Rani is a woman-centric film with the female lead played by Tannishtha Chatterjee, who has made a mark in several independent movies in the West.

Abid reveals that the film is a sci-fi movie based on time travel. Speaking about his role, an excited Abid says, “I play a South Indian character named Krishnaswamy, who is a techie geek. I am the person who handles the time travel in the film.” The film has him playing a prominent role with most of the scenes opposite Tannishtha. Abid states that working in the film was a huge learning experience,” I got to play a major role and share screen space with some renowned names.” The film is expected to release in OTT platforms. Since Abid had to speak English in the film, he did not face any language hurdles.

Meanwhile, Abid will also be part of Kumaran’s Tamil film LIC.
