Dileep's counsel denies charges of defamation
The petitioner's counsel also charged that the evidences submitted along with the chargesheet were \"incomplete and vague\".
Kochi: The counsel of Dileep, eighth accused in the actor abduction and sexual assault case, on Thursday denied charges of attempts to defame the victim during hearing held at the Angamaly Judicial Magistrate Court on Thursday. The court was considering the petitions moved by Dileep seeking copies of evidences submitted by the Special Investigation Team along with its chargesheet in the actor abduction case.
His lawyer questioned the Special Investigation Team's claims that Dileep was seeking evidences including the assault recordings to defame the victim. Dileep's counsel argued that the opposition is only seeking those evidences, the details of which already "appeared in the media". The petitioner's counsel also charged that the evidences submitted along with the chargesheet were "incomplete and vague". He also sought to know whether the police had conducted a detailed examination of the voices that "could be heard in the video footage on the victim's assault".
