When actor Jayaram posted his most recent photo on his social media account, all his fans did a double take with some even wondering if the actor had unlocked the elixir of youth. The fans cannot be blamed for their confusion — Jayaram looked years younger in a trim and fit avatar. Gone were the extra flab and the jowls one saw in his most recent film Marconi Mathai, in which he played a retired Army man. Instead, he looked far more youthful. Soon, appreciation messages began flowing in.

Turns out the actor shed all those extra kilos for his upcoming Telugu film starring Allu Arjun in the lead and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Apparently, the film is a romantic-family entertainer that will focus on three generations. Pooja Hegde is paired with Allu Arjun in the film and Jayaram is reportedly playing Allu Arjun’s father. Going by his current look, playing the elder brother may be right up his alley. It must be recalled that Jayaram had earlier played the antagonist in the Telugu film Bhaagamathie with Anushka Shetty in the lead and that was warmly received. In Malayalam, Jayaram has the Miya, Sheelu Abraham starrer Pattabhiraman. He had earlier done interesting roles in Tamil films like Saroja, Thuppakki and Uttama Villain.
