Kunchacko Boban has taken care to avoid being typecast by trying on a variety of roles. All his recent and upcoming films have seen him donning a variety of garbs and roles. Speaking about this, he jokes, “It’s a ploy to remain in the rat race! On a serious note, the audience wants different stories and films and films with an entertainment value are doing well.” Does he feel that youth oriented themes have a better run at the box office? He answers, “Family audience may take the opinion of the youth when it comes to watching a film but I personally feel it is the family audience that make a film run. A film should appeal to all sections of the audience and both the youth and family audience are important.”
Kunchacko has made a deliberate attempt to shrug off his chocolate hero image and he says, “God willing, it is paying off! My first film of 2016 -- Vettah’s response is a morale booster.” Talking about moving to other industries, Kunchacko quips, “I used to get offers from Tamil earlier but then I was not interested and now when I am interested, it seems they are not interested! Jokes apart, I would love to do Tamil films because I am fluent in Tamil and if I get a good offer, I will surely do it. The boundaries between industries are getting obliterated.”
