Namo to speak Sanskrit soon
Namo will be a Sanskrit language film based on the friendship between Lord Krishna and Kuchela or Sudama.
For those who dare to tread a different path, there is always an inherent risk. But success awaits those who persevere and more importantly believe in their dreams. Director Vijeesh Mani, in each of his attempts, always makes sure to raise his bar high. Earlier, his film Vishwaguru on the life of social reformer Sree Narayana Guru, was made in 51 hours and 2 minutes making it the fastest movie ever produced, earning Vijeesh a place in the Guinness Book of Records. His Irula language film Netaji too won a Guinness record for Tribal language film. His upcoming directorial Namo will be yet another bold attempt.
“Namo will be a Sanskrit language film based on the friendship between Lord Krishna and Kuchela or Sudama. The story of their friendship is so deep and pure,” he reveals, adding that this film will be made with the support of the Culture Ministry. Talking of how the film took shape, he explains, “I was a jury member at the International Film Festival of India. There, I viewed a lot of films from different states and realised that Sanskrit is such a rich and ancient language. In fact, some countries have Sanskrit universities.” So Vijeesh spoke to the relevant people in the Ministry and got the green signal.
Since Sanskrit will be the medium in which the film will be made, Vijeesh went the extra mile and learnt Sanskrit. “I did a basic six-month course in Sanskrit.”
Vijeesh started work on Namo one and a half years back. The cast has not been confirmed as of now, but he assures that there will be actors and technicians from all parts of the
country.
