A real film buff — that can be given as the synonym to actor Mithun Nalini Mohandas. Though he is noted in the role of an actor, his mind is always striving to know more about the films. After a gap of around three years the actor, who still called himself a film student, is back on screen with the short film Kamuki, which has recently bagged the national award in that category.

It was around one year back Mithun got the call to Kamuki. “I am still pursuing a course at School of Drama in Thrissur and it was at there I got acquainted with Christo, the director of Kamuki. In fact, he was there as part of the casting for this project. I also attended the audition and fortunately, I got selected,” he says.

Mithun says it was a great experience working with Christo. “From the audition itself, he was very friendly. During the audition, he had given me a total of four scenes and made me act each scene five times. Later I went to Kolkata, where the film was completely shot, around two weeks before the shoot started,” says the actor, who essays the lead role in the film.

Mithun who started with a minor role in Siddique’s Chronic Bachelor, was later seen as a villain in Dulquer Salmaan’s debut film Second Show. After a brief gap, he is back on screen with Dulquer's latest outing Kali. “Though mine is a small role in Kali, I am really happy to share the screen space with Dulquer again. And another happiest part is that I am getting good response from the audience,” says the actor, who is all set to appear in a supporting role in Kunchacko Boban-starrer Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti, which will reach theatres on Vishu.

“VTPT is one of the close- to-heart projects as I was with its director Rishi from its initial stage itself. From last six years, we were working on its screenplay and discussions. I am really happy to a part of his dream project,” says Mithun, who acts as Appunni, one of the close friends of Chackochan.
