Roshan Basheer's fan moment
Incidentally, Roshan has played a hardcore Vijay fan in the Tamil film Moondru Rasikarkal.
Actors have fans who go to crazy lengths to meet them. But what happens when a young actor wanted to meet a cricketer whose diehard fan he is? Cricket buff Roshan Basheer is a devoted fan of Virat Kohli and took great pains to meet his idol.
Roshan explains, “I love cricket and am a huge Virat fan. I travelled all the way to Kolkata to see the India-Pakistan match and decided to meet Virat. I knew some officials in the cricket board and gained entry to the ground. I spoke to a security guard there and explained that I was an actor and wanted to meet Virat.
Thankfully, he was a Malayali and had seen my film Drishyam; so I guess I was lucky. He asked me to come to the poolside at noon and in my excitement, I reached there before time and as promised, I got to meet my idol.” Roshan not only got to talk and click a selfie with Virat, he interacted with other players as well. He quips, “That was an unforgettable moment in my life and my fan moment!”
Incidentally, Roshan has played a hardcore Vijay fan in the Tamil film Moondru Rasikarkal. Roshan says, “I play a local Tamil guy who is a crazy fan of Vijay and sees all his movies on the first day itself.” Interestingly, Roshan has not signed any film in Malayalam. And he has his reasons. “I am getting more opportunities in Tamil. And I am not getting the kind of roles I want from Malayalam, so I am taking a break from Mollywood and concentrating on Tamil.”
