Manju Warrier's take on playing mother roles

While many other actors balk at playing mother roles fearing typecasting, Manju Warrier has no such qualms. She has been playing mother roles  after her comeback, first with the film How Old Are You and has continued with that in her recent hit C/O Saira Banu where she plays a  ‘mother’ to a college-going son. 

She states, “Why should I not play mother roles? It is the character that excites me. Actors might have their own beliefs, interests and criteria before signing on the dotted line. For me, it is the strength of the character and right now I think everyone is ready to don different roles. Roles are becoming very interesting and experimental now!"
