Mamangam trailer releases on Nov 2

The film takes a look at the 18th century tension between Chaverukkal and the Zamorin.

The official trailer of Mammootty’s much-awaited period drama Mamangam will be released on November 2 at 4 pm on the YouTube channel called Lahari. The teaser of this war drama was released in October, which gave a sneak peek into the story of the movie directed by M. Padmakumar. The basic plot revolves around Mamankam, a medieval festival believed to have taken place on the banks of Bharathapuzha. The film takes a look at the 18th century tension between Chaverukkal and the Zamorin.

Later in October, the Mukkuthi song from the movie was released to rave reviews. Featuring Prachi Tehlan, Ineya, Unni Mukundan and Sudev Nair, the song set in a traditional background is a visual grandeur. The song is sung by Shreya Ghoshal to the music of M. Jayachandran. The large set erected for the movie was also in news.   

Originally shot in Malayalam, the movie will be dubbed into Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Interestingly, it has been reported that Mammootty dubbed ancient Tamil for his character in the film with the help of director Ram.
