Mohanlal, the superstar, was admitted into a hospital in Kochi with high grade fever along with other symptoms such as myalgia and shortness of breath. In an official statement by Dr Gireesh Kumar, it is suspected that viral respiratory infection has affected him hence he should not have any public interaction for five days while receiving treatment. These words were shared by Sreedhar Pillai industry tracker who obtained the official records from the hospital.

Today social media sites are flooded by wishes from fans and netizens for a quick recovery of their beloved star actor showing his continued popularity. For instance, presently, Mohanlal's iconic classic film Manichitrathazhu which was launched 31 years ago is making waves in cinemas again. It tells a true story of 19th century tragedy surrounding a married couple moving into a haunted house.

The plot revolves around the couple’s fight to find out about secrets of this mansion using a psychiatrist friend that makes it a truly supernatural and psychological narrative throughout. Aside from being one of the actors in this film besides others like Suresh Gopi and Shobana. They also had Nedumudi Venu who had an impressive cast including Innocent and Thilakan among them.

Moreover, Manichitrathazhu is one of those cult classics in Malayalam cinema but it has been remade into various languages thus resulting in films like “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” (Hindi), “Chandramukhi” (Tamil) etc

On the professional front, Mohanlal had directed his first feature film called Barroz whose initial date of release was slated for September 12th but then pushed up to October 3rd 2024.The fantasy adventure involves him playing the role as treasure guardian alongside Maya and Tuhin Menon and other cast. He is also shooting for a new film tentatively titled L360, directed by Tharun Moorthy of Saudi Vellakka fame.

While his fans wait eagerly to hear of any improvement in his condition, Mohanlal’s impact on cinema continues – a legacy that celebrates his existence in the movie industry.
