Azhiyadha Kolangal 2 still.

Direction: MR Bharathy

Cast: Prakash Raj, Archana, Revathy, Eswari Rao

Gowri Shankar (Prakash Raj) is a celebrated Tamil writer. He is conferred with the Sahitya Akademi award for his novel Mohana Punnagai and he leads a contented life with wife Sita (Revathy). After receiving his award in Delhi, Gowri who treasures his moments with his college mate Mohana (Archana) decides to meet her after almost 24 years. Instead of catching his train, he takes a flight to Chennai only to visit her house without informing anyone.

The duo enjoys their togetherness and indulges in long happy conversations that goes down on a nostalgic alley. In the process, he forgets to take his blood pressure pills.  After dinner, when he retires to bed at late hours, he suffers a cardiac arrest and dies. Being a well-known writer, the news becomes sensational and the media throng Mohana’s house. Now the needle of suspicion falls on Mohana. What follows is a series of incidents with the film ending in a somewhat predictable climax.

Prakash Raj and Archana, known for their acting prowess are no exception here too. They shine in the given roles. Revathy is adequate in an extended cameo. Though the film moves at a slow pace and is shot within an apartment, Bharathy manages to capture the right emotions. And kudos to him for not taking commercial liberties to make it glossy, instead it is narrated in a poetic manner. A decent film worth a watch!
