2nd Half movie review: Half an hour sleep guaranteed
The characteristics of handful of characters in the movies is blown out of proportion.
Director: Yogi Devagange
Cast: Priyanka Upendra, Niranjan, Surabhi Santosh, Sharath Lohitashwa, Veena Sundar, Shalini
A woman police constable solving a missing girl’s case sounds interesting. But, the manner in which Anuradha, the constable portrayed by Priyanka Upendra, who solves the case can easily put even the most reputed in the business such as Scotland Yard police to shame! Apart from the nail ‘biting’ suspense and the thrilling moments, 2nd Half also guarantees some quality sleep even as the movie moves in a pace, probably much slower than a snail can go.
It is all about Anuradha, the lady constable whose job in the police department is to monitor the CCTV installed in public places and to notify any untoward incident to the police team who are on patrolling duty. With this simple crux, the director has webbed one of the most complicated crime thriller which no writer of detective stories has ever thought of it in the history till date.
The first few minutes is the upgraded version of popular television reality show - Bigg Boss. While the two women constables monitor the CCTVs, the protagonist is amused by the daily routines of a girl, who is an artist. Also, a boy portrayed by Niranjan, nephew of real star Upendra, is constantly seen in the pictures monitored by the police.
The characteristics of handful of characters in the movies is blown out of proportion. For instance, one of the lady constable is always seen hogging onto potato chips and shown as if she is watching a TV show rather than monitoring the CCTV images for policing purpose. Whereas even the police sub inspector, who is obsessed with 'facebook’ talks in the same networking language which seriously calls for an 'dislike’ option.
The twist in the tale is when Anuradha takes the matter into her own hands to find the missing girl.
What might keep the audience awake on this 'slowest’ motion picture experience is that of the performance of Priyanka Upendra and the girl played by Surabhi along with Niranjan who makes his debut.
Enjoyed most when fast asleep, do try to stay awake in the climax to know mystery behind the missing girl's case.
