Titled after an evergreen song featuring Lokesh, a popular sandalwood actor of yesteryear from the movie Ellindalo Bandavaru, this one which stars the actor's son in the lead has comedy written all over it, churned out from an ordinary tale.

Despite being popular on Kannada television with 'Majaa Talkies' show, which is a replica of the Kapil Sharma Show in Hindi, Srujan Lokesh had been struggling to find a foothold in the film industry as a lead actor, and Ellidde Illi Tanaka which means - where were you till now, gives him the much needed push and more importantly with laughter.

Yes, it is based on the same old formula, which involves a rich guy who falls in love at first sight with a pretty girl and how he himself gets caught in a web of lies. A ready-made recipe for guaranteed fun in the first part reflects the protagonist's image from his hit TV show before it gets serious with some romance and drama.

The director sticks to the basics in creating circumstances to fill in with comedy and then wraps it over love and eventually tops it up with drama.

An age-old saying that it is perfectly fine to lie a thousand times to get a marriage done is the key ingredient here, stirred well with entertaining lies. If Srujan shines with comedy, it is Hariprriya who steals the show with yet another impressive act. Her beautiful presence gives another good reason not to miss Ellidde Illi Tanaka. Overall, it's a feel-good movie worth watching it once for some light entertainment.
