Who can forget the first ever crush in his/her life, especially if it’s crushed pretty badly! Some may have second or even third such experience till they finally settle for a better half. However, no matter what, some past does come back to haunt unless one has managed to find the path of moksha! So, the two hours of wait for ‘the wedding’ which comes right before the climax with a philosophical touch, is what the film is all about.
Revisiting a decades-old formula, Srinivasa Kalyana takes us on a journey into the past filled with fun, as the director Srinivas, who also makes his acting debut, has scripted a tale from his own perspective, representing several dimensions of a protagonist’s life who keeps falling in love to rise again - be it infatuation, attraction, love, rejection or dejection before a proper solution is found.
On the lines of films like My Autograph, Lifeu Ishtene, and several more, this one is wrapped up with up some bolder dialogues which will definitely raise eyebrows and the comedy, most of which are inspired by popular SMS/WhatsApp jokes and conversations between friends in an informal atmosphere. Apart from a couple of songs which looks technically sound, a majority of the talky portions look like watching a TV serial on a bigger silver screen.
The center of attraction is ‘LKB, the Lakshmi Kanth Bala’, who keeps falling in love right from primary school, and then in high school before he ends up with a sensible one. The second one is kind of pretty with Kavitha Gowda’s innocent portrayal reminding boys about their special ones back from high school time. While everything seems perfect with the third one, there come a twist and whether LKB attains moksha, forms the plot, but is rather a predictable one.
Despite nothing new apart from those smart pick of words to stay away from being referred to as vulgar, the film is a fresh cocktail on love in an old bottle. So what if it is an old idea, dejected lovers from the past can surely sit back and enjoy thinking about her or him, and the best part is that it will make one laugh at it. Go fall in love again, as love can never get expired, no matter how old or new it is.
