Kiss movie review: Sweet but predictable
Apart from the technical excellence in presenting the love on the screen along with a couple of much needed melodiously peppy numbers.
Director: A P Arjun
Cast: Viraat, Sreeleela, Chikkanna, Sadhu Kokila, Dattanna and others
As explained by the writer, director A P Arjun who returns after three years, the acronym for this feature film titled Kiss stands for 'Keep It Short & Sweet'. It also reveals in a nutshell, the soul of this love story, which mainly talks about the 'delicate' relationships of today's teens.
With one of the most favourite genre, Arjun knits a romantic tale revolving around two youth who initially face denial when it comes to realising that they are in love before reality bites them with a kiss in the end! But before heading straight away to the climax, Kiss starts with a few hiccups before it turns into a serious affair.
Apart from the technical excellence in presenting the love on the screen along with a couple of much needed melodiously peppy numbers, composed by Harikrishna and his son Aadi, the biggest spoiler is the predictable storyline. Lengthy duration is another issue which drags the experience of watching Kiss. It simply keeps getting prolonged with very little to offer in the middle but the two debutants, Viraat and Sreeleela manage to hold the attention of the audience with some lively performances.
In short, Kiss is about Nandini, a carefree college student who lives life on her own terms while seeking fun out of it. During one such crazy attempt, Nandini encounters Arjun in an accidental manner. It then leads to an agreement between the two. What started as a hatred, the relationship is soon struck by the cupid and starts to swing both ways. However, it remains a one-sided affair for a long time.
Will the two finally seal their love for eachother with a kiss before they miss on it, is a good one time watch especially for those who simply love the love stories of all kinds.
