A common man decides to go against the system or rather two ‘badly’ influential persons while keeping his identity a secret, and in between a cute love story. This is exactly what the sandalwood debutant director Saravanan tells us in 124 minutes and 2 seconds.

While the director has all the right and powerful tools such as Puneeth Rajkumar in an action packed role, and the imported villains doing their best, the crux still remains ordinary which just manages to cross ‘that’ satisfactory mark. And, it is certainly not the greatest one, and is bound to fade away as another good watch for the ‘power’ fans.

Despite maintaining that it is merely inspired by his previous Tamil directorial – ‘Ivan Vermathiri’, it is hardly any different from making much of a difference in Kannada. The ‘common’ factor here is the man with enough power to tactfully bring the two baddies to justice for their cruel deeds. Insofar as the title is concerned, it misses the chilling part of the classic version.

Taking no time, the director makes his point clear and keeps it quite real in the first half and then the plain script starts rushing in with titbits of comedy flavoured with love. The songs scored by S S Thaman are nothing extraordinary beyond the star attractions in the voice of Puneeth, Jr NTR and Kajal Aggrawal. The making saves the day along with the action and the effortless foot tapping by Puneeth. Rachita does impresses, and this time in a more powerful manner.

Apart from typical scenes such as doctor refusing to treat a badly wounded person citing police case, and Sadhu at his usual best, it looks good but falls short of expectations.
