The man behind those days (Aa Dinagalu), who emerged as a clear winner with his previous on-screen game (Aatagara) is back with another 'Aa' tale. After crime thrillers, his latest pick is horror, and even this time he sticks with 'Aa' for the film title which continues to be a lucky charm for him. Restricted to adults, Aake is about 'her' scary tale set in both London and Bengaluru! The ghost/devil or the restless soul, one may prefer to call it does manage to scare the audience in the end.
Unlike many which lack a solid tale apart from scaring the audience away, Aake has an imaginary and suspense elements to builds the tension till her real face is revealed. It is the making and the technical work capturing the London's nearby creepy forest area in the dark which makes it an interesting watch.
Be it from London or from namma Bengaluru, the ghosts have one common agenda, and it is to scare the audience. With an International spin to it, Chaitanya's Aake sustains mostly due to the brilliant background score by Gurukiran. It is a double layered scary venture but for someone who enjoys watching a lot of horrors may end up a bit disappointing as this ghost/devil mostly works as a shadow minus the typical scary looking creature with eyes popping out while surprising its target from nowhere around.
Chiranjeevi Sarja, who plays an artist, sketches another brilliant performance in Aake. Whereas, the beautiful Sharmiela Mandre, she 'scares' with her top-notch acting and the rest revolves around her.
An asylum located near London, which is shut for illegal activities, is her epicenter. A restless soul called 'Maya' is believed to be haunting there and anybody who calls her name thrice saying that they do not have her baby, are bound to face her. A writer lands in London in search of her tale, and what follows is a dark secret.
Meanwhile, in Bengaluru Sharmiela, a single mother is struggling with her life as an actor-model. She is broken up with her actor husband and is living with her friend who is a film technician, presently busy with a horror film shot in real locations in London.
Fed up of local ghosts/devils? Then watch her who scares from the dark woods of England!
