It’s safe to say that Showkali has now become an anthem for bike lovers! The song from the STR-starrer Accham Enbadhu Madamaiyada, which was released almost two months back, is still a rage with youngsters — but the duo behind the track can’t wait for the film’s release, to reveal what’s next in store!

ADK and Sri Rascol, the rappers of Showkali, have now combined to form a company called ‘Rap Machine’, which promises to take Tamil pop music to a new level.

Their first single as the  ADKSRIRASCOL brand, will be a tribute for Accham... and has an international radio release on August 10. The rappers speak to DC about how their life has been post Showkali, their first single and their future projects.

“Though I have previously sung for A R Rahman sir four times, the response to Showkali has been memorable. It’s incredible in the sense that people have accepted a song with no verse, no bridge, and with a totally different arrangement,” starts ADK on an excited note. He goes on to say, “Nobody has sung in Tamil with such pace flow and rhythm. As a result, many singers are competing with us in terms of pace and other intricacies. It’s a healthy competition!”

Sri Rascol, on the other hand, feels that the theme, which deals with the love for bikes, is a major reason for the song to become a sensation — “Men and bikes have always had a relationship, which only they understand. As a result, after this song released, bikers are feeling extremely proud.”

ADK further adds, “Even when we were about to launch our brand in Malaysia, 15 Harley-Davidson bikers followed us from our home, all the way to the venue! Though I don’t know to ride a bike, I feel like I should now learn to!”

Speaking about their newly formed brand, ADK says, “Both of us have such a good chemistry. That is when we thought, ADKSRIRASCOL should become a brand, rather than being just a team of two rappers. Our company Rap Machine is managed by a few people and we have already have plans for our debut album Rapacharam.”

Sri, meanwhile, is pretty excited about the release of their first single — which has also been titled Accham Enbadhu Madamaiyada. “The title of the Gautham Menon film inspired us to come up with this song. Hence, we wanted to kick off our association with a tribute song for the movie. Both Gautham sir and A R Rahman sir were really happy after hearing it. Apart from India, the song will also be released internationally including Australia, UK, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore and UAE.”

On a concluding note, ADK promises that this song will make the bikers proud, once again. “Our single speaks about bike and dhairiyam (bravery). We are hoping that people would love it and get goosebumps, listening to it,” he says as both bid us adieu.
