Musical harmony

On Saturday evening, nearly 170 students performed at the Hyderabad Schools Choral Festival, at a venue in Filmnagar. Students of several international schools from the city, as well as places like Pune, Mumbai and Bengaluru participated in the festival that saw them enthusiastically prep up for two days before finally putting up a grand performance.
Dr Iryna Tsarenko, the musical coordinator at International School of Hyderabad (ISH), the hosts of the festival, spearheaded the festival and also trained several of the students, while renowned orchestra conductor from Moscow, Boris Tarakanov, was the special guest of the evening.
Choir groups from ISH, Mercedes-Benz International School, Stonehill International School and many other renowned international schools in the country took part in the gala event. Students of ISH’s middle school choir share, “This has been a great experience. Music apart, we got to meet like-minded students from other schools.”
The evening’s highlight was a cappella act by the students of Bengaluru’s renowned music school Harmony, while all the students ended the event dancing to A.R. Rahman’s Academy Award winning song Jai Ho.
