Maestro Ilayaraja picks aspiring college singers

Maestro Ilayaraja recently attended two events in Ethiraj College and Queen Mary’s College in the city and celebrated his birthday. Besides performing a few numbers, he also had interactions with students who rendered handpicked evergreen numbers of Raja and also evinced interest in singing his compositions.

Accordingly, Raja had invited a bunch of girls from these colleges and gave them an audition. He selected 9 aspiring students out of them who had good voices. “I am introducing these nine girls as playback singers in my future film offerings,”, revealed Ilayaraja.
