Dinesh in Bollywood!
Dinesh Prabhakar is one of those rare actors who handles casting direction in the industry, and that paved way for his first Bollywood movie.
Dinesh Prabhakar sounded as though he was in haste, but it was only a matter of time that he settled down to a relaxed pace. A familiar face for Malayalis, Dinesh was recently seen in Asif Ali's Kavi Udheshichathu? , Kolumittayi and Prithiviraj starrer Oozham but he has no qualms about taking up any kind of role for the industry. “I do manage to take up other tasks like cast direction, but acting is always my first love,” says Dinesh.
His ongoing project is the major highlight of his career. Saif Ali Khan’s Chef, directed by Airlift director Raja Krishna Menon. It is Dinesh's first Bollywood film and he plays an important role in it.
“When I got a call from the team to recommend actors who can speak Hindi fluently, I obviously wasn’t thinking of me. I sent a few actors who could give a shot. Later they called for another short role in the movie, but I ended up getting offered for the first part,” says Dinesh whose role has importance in the second half of the movie. “I am a fellow traveller with Saif's character and others who travel from Kerala to Goa to Delhi. As of now, I have two more schedules left which will be shot in the coming months,” adds Dinesh.
On his Bollywood experience, especially with Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh says, “Initially I was a bit apprehensive as the working system for a Bollywood movie is different from our Malayalam films. But later, I realised it is not so different. It was such a breather for me. Saif is a very cool actor. I can compare him to Dileep ettan, who is very cool during sets and cracks a lot of jokes. He didn't have the air of a super star.” The movie is scheduled to release in July next year.
