Wife writes for husband
Hariprasad is the recipient of Guruvayoorappan Mayilpeeli Award while wife Sandhya has received Kamala Surayya Award in 2012.
It’s a wonderful moment to witness a couple in Kozhikode all set to step into the world of cinema hand-in-hand. Hariprasad has composed four songs for the movie Krishnam in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. His wife Sandhya has penned the songs in Malayalam and Tamil, which was translated to Telugu. The movie is directed by Dinesh Babu, the director of Mazhavil. Hari has composed the songs in three languages simultaneously. The Malayalam song is already out on the Youtube. Vijay Yesudas, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Tippu, and Usha Jayakrishnan have sung the songs in Malayalam.
Madhu Balakrishnan, Karthik, Sathya Prakash and Usha Jayan have sung the Tamil songs. S.P. Balasubramanyam, Kalabhairava and Revandh have sung the Telugu songs. Hariprasad marked his beginning in playback singing later on moving on to music composing. “Passion is everything”, Hari says. His wife Sandhya is a poet and lyricist, who received Kamala Surayya Award in 2012. She has written many hymns for albums and is currently preparing a script for an upcoming Malayalam Movie. “My son Agnivesh,shows keen interest in singing.” says Hariprasad.
Hariprasad has done his doctorate in music from International Tamil University, USA. He has also received Guruvayoorappan Mayilpeeli Award from Patma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj in 2010. Hari has composed many album songs and has assisted music directors AR Rahman, Ilayaraja, Raveendran Master and Harris Jayaraj for years.“We have been working hard and now we are blessed.” says Hari and Sandhya.
