Jungkook Stands Out with 1.2bn Streams on Spotify
Famous Korean pop band BTS Jungkook’s popularity has gone up a notch following another achievement on Spotify. Jungkook emphasised his influence on music lovers across the globe as four of his songs surpassed 1.2 billion streams on Spotify.
The pop star reached the milestone 1.2 billion streams on Spotify in a span of 487 days, even without a solo album. This exemplary feat showcases his talent and also strengthens his position in the music industry.
It may be recalled that Jungkook had already set a record by being the fastest K-pop singer to reach 1.1 billion streams in just 453 days. Now, he surpassed this milestone by adding another 100 million streams, in nearly one month.
The BTS star’s Spotify account features four songs prominently. They include ‘2022 Qatar World Cup’ soundtrack, ‘Dreamers’ a solo track, ‘Stay Alive’ sung for a webtoon OST, a collaboration ‘Left and Right’ with Charlie Puth, and ‘I’m in Love’ a cover song performed as a duet on ‘King of Mask Singer’ show.
Significantly, Jungkook’s achievement of reaching 1 billion streams in the shortest time for a K-pop artist with only three songs – Dreamers, Stay Alive and Left and Right, also earned him recognition from UK’s Guinness World Records.
This apart, the pop star’s Spotify account garnered over 7.6 million followers, setting a new record as the fastest-growing following for an Asian solo artist. In 2022 Spotify’s year-end settlement register, Jungkook occupied the top slot as the ‘most listened-to K-pop solo artist in the world’.
Jungkook is scheduled to release another solo album in July and fans anxiously wait for another record on Spotify.
