Music maketh the woman
Elizabeth John, a 23-year-old musician from city was thrown a set of droll questions. And here's how she fared.
1) If you weren't a musician, what would you be doing?
A. I'd be travelling the world, celebrating nature and people of different cultures.
2) Eternal youth or a fat wallet? What's the first thing you'd pick if you had to make a choice in 10 seconds?
A. Eternal youth! For I’d love to remain young and wild and free. Most importantly WILD! Haha!
3) What came first — the chicken or the egg?
A. The chicken, for I heard it first at 5 am the day I was born. Didn’t hear no eggs cracking.
4) The sleaziest pick-up line used by you/ on you?
A. This was used on me. And he said, “Of all the beautiful curves on you, your smile is my favourite”. The thought still gives me the creeps.
5) Take us through an instance of a date gone real bad...
A. I was feeling rather spontaneous and suggested Ice-Skating on a first date. Big mistake! I had never gone ice-skating, yet assumed I would turn into an ice-princess quite naturally on my first attempt. I ended up chilling next to the oldies and the babies who cheered my partner on, as he waltzed away all evening by himself.
6) Music to you is? And if you were to explain it to your grand mum, how would you do it?
A. Music is a medium to narrate a buffet of emotions without saying a word. It is beautiful and tragic all in one.
7) A fashion trend you wouldn't even on a gunpoint?
A. Off-shoulder tops, Never!
8) A guilty pleasure
A. Shopping! And telling myself I'm shopping for photoshoots I wish to style and not for myself (big lie).
9) A trait about yourself, you wish people knew?
A. That I love my space more than people sometimes. Well now they know. Sigh!
10) A compliment that you never really understood
A. “You’re not fat, you’re not thin, but you’re sort of healthy so it's good. You don’t have a pretty voice, like the regular girls whom you could picture singing in the meadows, while milking cows under the blazing sun, but your voice is different, unique, grunge.”
