Countdown for debut
Musician Arun Muraleedharan Nair, who has entered the world of movies through short films, is waiting for the release of Happy Wedding.
Arun Muraleedharan Nair did not have a moment of doubt when he left his job in the hospitality field. He was sure of the passion he had for music. After composing music for a number of short films, Arun is keeping his fingers crossed for the release of the movie Happy Wedding for which he has composed music.
Although Happy Wedding is his first movie to release, it is not Arun’s debut movie. “I had first committed and worked for Adventures of Omanakuttan, which has Asif Ali and Bhavana in the lead. I had done music for this movie long back and one of the producers of Happy Wedding happened to hear it. That's how I got to do it.”
On the Happy Wedding team, he says, “This is Omar’s debut movie as a director. It has a young team, most of them who were part of Premam. This movie has one melody and two pep numbers, both of which are techno-based. Haricharan, Vijay Yesudas, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Najeem have lent voice for these songs. The music launch is on April 10 and the movie is set for release on April 27.”
On Adventures of Omanakuttan, he says, “That movie is a team effort of my friends. We had everything, including the songs, ready even before we approached the producer. The movie is underway and will be released by June.”
Arun has worked with the teams of popular short films Whyga and The Tale of Mathew Mannadan. He has also composed for the Hindi album Amar, a song which plays on the official page of Army, Navy and Air Force. So, how did music happen for this Spa Management student and Yoga instructor? A trained Carnatic vocalist, Arun says music came to him unexpectedly.
“I used to attend Carnatic classes forced by my parents; it was not a passion back then. After working in the hospitality industry and as a yoga instructor, I did an album in 2010, and today, I am a full-time musician. I am very happy.”
