The Telugu film industry is mourning the loss of director Ajay Shastry, who passed away on Friday. His debut film, 'Nenu Meeku Telusa' (2008), received critical acclaim and paved the way for unique storytelling in Telugu cinema. Shastry's contribution to the industry has inspired many, including director Nag Ashwin, who began his career as an assistant director with Shastry.
Actor Manchu Manoj, who starred in 'Nenu Meeku Telusa,' expressed his grief on social media, sharing a heartfelt tribute to his friend and director. Manoj's post highlighted their close bond and the immense pain of losing Shastry. Manoj posted, "Heartbreaking to inform you that my best friend and the Captain of Nenu Meeku Telusa is no more. No words can describe the pain we are enduring, praying lord shiva to give strength to his family and loved ones. Om Shanti. Will miss you ra Ajay, gone too soon. Wishing this is a dream. It’s not going to be the same without you. Love you forever babai."
Ajay Shastry also wrote for films like 'Rakhi' (2006) and 'Danger' (2005), both directed by Krishna Vamsi. Additionally, he made a notable short film, 12 (Baarah), produced by Rana Daggubati.
