Telugu OTT platform Aha's foray into Tamil content space, Vaan Moondru, is a story of hope in the face of extreme adversity. It is definitely going to touch a chord with the audience and receive their love and appreciation.

The short film revolves around three couples- a young couple carrying the baggage of their previous failed relationships, a newly married couple who rebelled against their families and an elderly couple who have been together for more than 40 years. All the three couples are admitted in hospital due to their own health concerns and how they navigate through the negativity bred by these adverse circumstances and emerge hopeful and full of positivity forms the crux of the story.

It traces the emotional turbulence in the lives of these six individuals and the turmoil they face in the times of crisis. Director AMR Murugesh tries to delve into the emotional state of the protagonists and brings out the subtle and delicate feelings to entertain and engage the audience. 

The young couple, both of whom have been betrayed by their former partners, try to overcome the grief after discovering that the trait which led to separation with their former lovers has been taken care of in the new-found love which they have experienced. The love affair between the couple, Aditya Bhaskar and Ammu Abhirami which heals them, begins in the hospital after they have been admitted there following their failed suicide bids. It ends once they are declared ready for discharge and realise that they have been healed in the process and are now ready to handle their emotions on their own.

The newly married couple is shocked to discover that the female partner, played by Abhirami Venkatachalam, is suffering from a near non curable fatal disease. Having entered the wedlock without the consent of their parents, the couple struggle by themselves in the hospital during which it is also revealed that she is a pregnant. Already guilt ridden with the feeling of betraying their parents, the couple hesitates to take their relationship to the next level, and the news of disease bogs them down further. How fate changes for the couple and how they handle the situation forms for an interesting watch. Vinoth Kishan does complete justice to the role of the caring husband who dotes on his wife.

In the elderly couple segment, the woman, Chitra, played by Leela Samson, gets afflicted with a severe disease which requires a few lakhs for the surgery. Unable to arrange this sum at the fag end of his life, her partner, Sivam, portrayed by Delhi Ganesh, loses hope despite them having a son who is well off and is drawing a handsome salary. Surprisingly, help comes from unexpected quarters in time to facilitate the surgery for Chitra. The interesting conversation between Chitra and Sivam, even during despondency can give new couple goals to the audience. 

Throughout the movie, the director tries to drive home the point that life can be started afresh even when the past has been very hard on you.

The short film is worth a watch for those willing to listen to their heart and follow the inner voice.
