Ishaan Khatter’s latest cinematic venture, Pippa, directed by Raja Krishna Menon, has become the hot topic in Bollywood circles, earning praise for the captivating portrayal of the real hero, Captain Balram Singh Mehta of India’s 45 Cavalry Regiment during the 1971 Indo-Pak war on the Eastern Front. The film, now streaming on OTT, draws inspiration from the intense battlefield events at Garibpur in 1971.

Ishaan’s compelling performance in Pippa has garnered admiration. Reflecting on the experience, Ishaan expresses his enthusiasm for the war narrative, stating, “Raja sir has depicted it with such sincerity, making this web series a success. This film delves into the unconventional and stimulating, contributing to a proud moment in Indian history. It’s essential to bring such stories to light so that our youth can connect with and take pride in the sacrifices of our real heroes.”

Looking ahead, Ishaan is set to play a supporting role in the English-language OTT series, The Perfect Couple, alongside Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning.

Ishaan shares, “Being a civilian, it was challenging to grasp the life of a soldier. Wearing the uniform instilled a sense of responsibility in me. I delved into studying the era, understanding the prevailing situations, and immersing myself in their lifestyle, from dressing styles to socializing.” He adds, “I choose projects carefully and give my 100 percent to each character. Physical transformations are often required, and I believe in delivering fully realized performances rather than rushed, half-baked portrayals.”
