Complaint Filed Against Jai Hanuman Makers Over Teaser

A complaint alleges the Jai Hanuman teaser distorts Lord Hanuman's depiction, hurting religious sentiments.

The producers of Pushpa 2 recently secured partial relief in the ongoing case related to the stampede incident at Sandhya Theater during a screening of the film. While the police have been directed to continue their investigation into producers Yelamanchili Ravi Shankar and Yerneni Naveen of Mythri Movie Makers, they have been instructed not to arrest them.

Meanwhile, a new legal issue has arisen for the producers. A fresh case has been filed against the Jai Hanuman filmmakers, including Mythri Movie Makers' producers Naveen Yerneni and Yelamanchili Ravi Shankar, as well as actor Rishab Shetty.

Lawyer Mamidal Tirumal Rao lodged the complaint at the Nampally Criminal Court, alleging that the teaser of Jai Hanuman, released on October 30, 2024, offensively depicted Lord Hanuman. Instead of featuring a traditional representation of Hanuman’s face, the teaser showed actor Rishab Shetty’s face, which Rao claims distorts the deity’s image. "This was done solely to portray Rishab Shetty as larger than Lord Hanuman, which is unfair," Rao stated.

Rao further argued that such a depiction could mislead future generations about the true image of Hanuman and hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. Consequently, he filed a complaint against the film’s director, Prashanth Varma, producers Naveen Yerneni and Yelamanchili Ravi Shankar, and actor Rishab Shetty.
