“I don’t see Sridevi in Janhvi yet,” RGV remarked, sparking fresh discussions about the perceived similarities—or lack thereof—between the iconic actress and her daughter.
While Janhvi’s Devara co-star Jr NTR had earlier commented on how a particular frame during a photoshoot captured Janhvi as a “spitting image” of her mother, RGV dismissed such comparisons. He attributed them to what he called a “Sridevi hangover.”
“Sridevi’s admiration stemmed from her performances and immense talent,” RGV explained. “Whether it was Padaharella Vayasu or Vasanta Kokila, she showcased a remarkable range. Watching her perform, I stopped seeing her as a filmmaker and started seeing her as an audience. That was her power.”
When asked about the possibility of working with Janhvi, RGV bluntly stated, “I liked the mother, not the daughter. I have no plans to collaborate with her.”
This statement adds yet another layer to RGV’s longstanding fascination with Sridevi, setting him apart as one of her most vocal admirers.
