Far away from the 'usual' crowd of saas-bahu sagas on Kannada TV, she is on a different mission. Meet the new detective whose methods are very different from that of Sherlock Holmes and his partner. Her everyday homemaking experience is her best tools in solving mysteries. She is Pattedari Prathibha, the new creation of actor-turned-director Naveen Krishna, son of veteran Sandalwood actor Srinivas Murthy.
The multi-talented actor-director speaks with Bengaluru Chronicle as his second small screen venture as the director is set to kick start from April. His previous venture Girija-Kalyana produced by the makers of Bahubali, was very popular with over 145 episodes. This gave Naveen the much-needed boost to come back with another new drama on small screen. In fact, Naveen made his debut as a child artiste and went on to act in several films but eventually took up writing along with acting. Now he has turned a director. "I started my career as an artiste but when luck did not assist me, I gravitated towards film writing. I soon directed a socio-mythology serial which was unusual at that time while most were saas-bahu, vengeance-seeking dramas," says Naveen. His recent film as the lead in Actor was well appreciated and was screened at Bengaluru International Film Festival. Despite the huge popularity and great TRPs, his first TV venture abruptly ended after 145 episodes. "Even this time, I wanted to do something different beyond just the comedy, love story and family dramas. Pattedari Pratibha, is a mix of crime solving mysteries by a homemaker, who is also busy taking care of her family. She is not the regular detective. Her curiosity leads her to solve mysteries,” he adds.
