His Victory came as a huge surprise for fans! Since then, Nanda Kishore has been quite the Adyaksha delivering successful films like Ranna and his latest sensation Mukunda Murari.

Even as his latest directorial Mukunda Murari starring two big stars — Upendra and Kiccha Sudeep is doing well at the box office, Nanda Kishore, the son of veteran actor Sudheer, is ready to roar again with the re-introduction of his long-time close friend Pradeep in Tiger.

That’s not all, he has two big projects on the anvil — one starring Manoranjan in his second film as an actor, a remake of the Tamil hit film VIP, and Jabardast with Dhruva Sarja. The most successful director in Sandalwood today speaks to Bengaluru Chronicle about Tiger, and much more.

“I have known Pradeep for over seven years, from the days when we all were struggling to make a mark in the industry. I have seen his growth and his difficult days as an actor. We wanted to help each, and when he approached me for this film and said that he would like me to direct it, I agreed and the Tiger started roaring! I am re-introducing him in a totally new avatar, where he will shed off his his college guy image,” says Nanda Kishore.

He also reveals that he and his dedicated team have done their best to make it happen for Pradeep. “He (Pradeep) has been working really very hard for this one, and has transformed himself for this action-oriented role. Though it is his home banner venture, Pradeep was always at ease —  and is a good learner. My team, who had been working with me since my first film, has again done a wonderful job for Tiger. I have written the script, and Tarun, my brother assists me with Arjun Janya composing the songs,” he says.

Tiger, also marks the comeback for Bollywood veteran Om Puri in Sandalwood. Om Puri was last seen in the hit movie AK 47 which starred Dr Shivarajkumar in the lead. “It was a great experience working with Om Puri Sir. I have never seen such utmost dedication towards work. He used to be in early on the sets, and would always listen patiently before going for a take. He is truly a great person to work with. He will be seen in a police officer’s role,” shares Nanda.

His back-to-back commercial ventures aside, he feels that he is a very simple person with a simple thought process. Demand and supply matters, therefore, he believes in working as long as his style of work is in demand. “I started my career scripting experimental ventures. I would definitely work on experimental films too, in the days to come. For now, though, I am only doing my job as a director who is asked to do his work for a certain (type of) audience.”

According to him, Tiger is a pukka commercial film with extravagant fights and action sequences. The director is also working on an untitled project featuring Manoranjan, the son of Crazy Star V Ravichandran in a remake of the Tamil hit film VIP and has Jabardast with Dhurva Sarja on track.
