Love in the time of CAMERA!
Love flicks on Valentine's Day seems to be the trend of Sandalwood.
Love knows no reason, no boundaries, no distance... But many wait for February 14, a special day to express and celebrate love with their special ones.
Sandalwood is no different when it comes to making a lovely start on this day for their romantic ventures.
While many producers wait to release their romantic movies coinciding with Valentine’s Day to attract ‘loving’ audiences, most others plan to kick start their ventures in a unique manner. Though there were talks that the long pending release Apoorva, directed by Crazy Star V Ravinchandran could hit the screens, the maker eventually announced it on the day that it will soon release in the coming month.
However Kiss by A P Arjun, Beautiful Manasugalu by Jayatheertha, Jessie by Pawan Wadeyar and Eradane Sala by Mata Guruprasad are other romantic films that had a special day ‘out’ this year. Bengaluru Chronicle reports on the trend.
After scripting success with his back-to-back love stories, director A P Arjun strayed when he attempted a complete action thriller with Mr Airavata. However, realising his strength in romance, the director has announced his latest venture Kiss. “The title of the movie was specially launched on Valentine’s Day. Kiss is nothing but love, and we had planned to launch the title on the special day. The title Kiss, is unique and the subject talks about special relationships,” says the director.
Whereas Pawan Wadeyar who is basking in the glory of his back-to-back successes chose to launch the audio of his upcoming release Jessie. “Jessie, with the tagline Gift of Love, is a special film. After my début alongside Tamil star Dhanush, I ventured into Kannada films, but Jessie will be my first solo romantic film, and I am thankful to Pawan who chose to portray me as Nandini in the film. Though I do not believe in Valentine’s Day, it is definitely a special occasion to celebrate the music of our film which has been beautifully scored by Anoop Seelin,” says Parul Yadav.
Though there were huge expectations with Ratnaja’s Preethiyalli Sahaja, the film that released last week failed to make an impression on the audiences who refused to fall in love the stale tale.
Although Crazy Star V Ravichandran’s Apoorva was expected to release this Valentine’s Day, the star director, writer and actor revealed that he had finally finished the re-recording and editing a part of the film, and that it was now set for release. “I took almost one-and-a-half years for the re-recording and editing. I have to first love the final take of the film, and now that it is ready, it will soon hit the screens,” says Ravichandran. Also, Guruprasad of Mata fame is back, this time with a romantic tale, Eradane Sala starring Dhananjay and Sangeetha Bhat in the lead. Truly, love is in the air for Sandalwood!
