Jailer Fulfilled My Dream of Working With Rajini Sir: Shiva Rajkumar
Kannada Century Star Shiva Rajkumar who did a special appearance in recent blockbuster ‘Jailer’ expressed happiness over the success of the film. “It is doing extremely well all over the world and breaking records. I am very happy about it,” said the actor in a video.
“It is every actor’s dream to work with Rajinikanth sir. My dream was fulfilled with this film. I am very thankful to Rajini sir for this opportunity,” he added. He claimed that he would cherish this role forever. “I also thank director Nelson for etching nice roles for me and Jackie Shroff," he concludes.
“Shiva Rajkumar drew applause for his scenes in the climax of "Jailer' where he decimates a few thugs in his inimitable style in the process of helping Rajnikanth in his mission," says a distributor and adds, "Despite being a big star in Kannada, Shiva Rajlkumar was unable to deliver big hits in two Telugu states despite having releases like ‘Killing ‘Veerappan’. Whereas, his colleagues like Kiccha Sudeep and Upendra’ had minted money in Telugu states. Maybe, he was catering to his fans in Karnataka rather than looking for a universal theme to reach out to other language viewers,” adds the distributor.
However, he is very close to Nandamuri Balakrishna and his family. He was one of the chief guests at the legendary NTR centenary celebration recently. “I did a cameo in Balakrishna's 100th film, ‘Gauthamiputra Satakarni,’ and it was accepted well. Thank you for welcoming me to the Telugu film industry. And one more thing, we are doing a film together. It is a big honour for me. I hope you will accept that film as well and encourage us,” he said at the event.
Probably, their big ticket film together, could help him to conquer Tollywood in the days to come.
