Vedhika is also raring to go with a film with Real Star Upendra set to release and another Tamil sequel...
Among the prettiest, most popular and power-packed performers in the industry, this actress turns a year older on February 21. Fans are eagerly waiting to express their love and appreciation on her special day, and had already kickstarted the countdown to her birthday two months ago on various social media platforms. Overwhelmed by the huge support she has garnered, actress Vedhika is planning a special treat for them. After the huge success of Shivalinga starring alongside Century Star Shivarajkumar and then Gowdru Hotel, she will be seen on the silver screen in the Kannada film Home Minister, this time for a ‘real’ experience as she stars alongside Real Star Upendra. The birthday girl is also busy with the Tamil project Kanchana 3, the latest sequel from the hit franchise Kanchana. In an exclusive interview with Bengaluru Chronicle, the actress reveals her birthday plans, ongoing performance-oriented projects and the filmy journey ahead.
“I cannot thank my fans enough for all the love and appreciation they have shown. It feels nice, and I am humbled by the innumerable people awaiting my birthday. Some fans even had a countdown running for two months. To be honest, I am not among those who expects someone to wish me personally. Such unconditional support is due to God’s grace. It keeps me inspired to do my best in whatever role I undertake,” says Vedhika.
The actress who played Angamma in Bala’s Tamil period tale Paradesi for which she earned critical appreciation, is on a four day break from work, visiting Singapore to spend time with family and friends on her special day.
“I was working on my two previous birthdays. Luckily, this time I am on a break for a few days. I will be Singapore. For all my lovely fans, I am planning to go live on my official page and directly interact with them, and thank them for making it even more special,” she reveals.
Vedhika is equally excited about two other big projects — Home Minister in Kannada, Kanchana 3 with Raghava Lawrence and another big project which she will reveal soon.
“It has been a tremendous journey considering that it all started more than a decade ago — To work hard to keep going at the same level. That apart, the kind of films I have been doing have been a great influence. Post-Paradesi, they have all taken me to a new level. Home Minister is going to be a one-of-a-kind film in Kannada. One of my wishes was to act with Upendra Sir, and it has come true. The tale is as intriguing as the uniqueness of its title,” she adds.
Home Minister comes at a time when Upendra has himself floated a real political party, so we are curious, Vedhika smiles saying that we need to wait and watch. It also marks the entry of popular Tamil composer Ghibran to Kannada movies.
In Kanchana 3, the actress who was a part of its first edition titled Muni, says that it is going be one laughter riot with the best of horror.
“I usually love travelling on my birthday and spending quality time with family. Though I have no resolutions as such, I wish to take up more performance-oriented projects,” she says before flying off to Singapore.
Dance classes and gymming are her go-to but she also practices pranayanama. “I thanks all my fans, supporters and well wishers for all the love and wishes.” We wish the pretty actress the best, and more Angamma’s to come her way.
