A familiar face on the telly, she has graced many commercials as a teenager. She went on to make her debut in the Kannada movie Teenage but her big break came with Siddhartha, which was the launch pad for Kannada thespian late Dr Rajkumar’s grandson Vinay Rajkumar.

While, Apoorva Arora was busy with Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati and Hindi films and scores of TV commercials, she is smiling her way back into Kannada loka with a film that is her comeback, a Yogaraj Bhat and Golden Star Ganesh venture, Mugul Nage.

The actress, who is in the throes of shooting with the cast and crew, speaks exclusively about her next film Mugul Nage with a smile. She also shares her deep interest in studying psychology, and how trying her hand at combat fighting is totally up her alley.

“I do not call this a comeback as I had not gone anywhere! I was just busy exploring movies in other language films including Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi and Gujarati. I was also waiting for the right kind of project to work in my next Kannada film. I love the people here, and the response I had after Siddhartha was great,” says Apoorva Arora.

She feels that the Kannada film industry has always been close to her heart, and that she even managed to learn the language quite well. As an actress, Apoorva feels she has reached a stage where usual roles did not interest me, she wants to explore something challenging.

“Fortunately, Mugul Nage came along. It’s great to work with a great director like Yogaraj Bhat Sir and Ganesh Sir, who are coming back together after a long time. Most of all, the story is truly amazing. I am really hooked to the storyline, and did not even think twice before accepting the role,” says Apoorva.

Infact, it was Amulya who was the leading lady for the Golden comeback, and now Apoorva joins the bandwagon, which is not such a surprise as Amulya recently got engaged, with her marriage scheduled for May 2017. However, Amulya could still be smiling in the film with a cameo appearance.

Apart from Mugul Nage for which she has already started shooting, Apoorva has a couple of films in Punjabi and Gujarati which are scheduled for release too.
“So far, the audience has seen me in cute teenage roles, as a girl next door but this role will be completely different from the ones I have taken up in the past. I had to work on the role as it has a different dimension to it. Yogaraj Sir has worked really well on my character and knew exactly what he wanted from me. From the onscreen appearance, to the way she speaks and walks, it is totally out-of-the-box,” says the pretty actress.

She also never plans her career, and believes in her instincts. “I am pretty confident (about my intuition). I am still 20, and there is so much more to achieve. Being a Punjabi, I have worked in Marathi, Gujarati and Kannada, learning different languages and have even worked in advertisements. It is my father who manages my career. I accept projects based on how much I can actually deliver, and yet have some spare time for my education,” she adds.

The actress is presently pursuing her graduation through distance learning. With a degree in arts, she is studying sociology, psychology and public relations, which she plans to use in the future.

She wants to pursue studies in psychology, and is eager to help counsel drug addicts. She recently took lessons in combat fighting which she thinks is very essential for any women in the current scenario.
