My character is outright evil: Rashami Desai
Rashami Desai speaks about her comeback role in the fiction series Adhuri Kahaani Humari.
Actress Rashami Desai has put her painful past behind and is looking forward to a brand new innings on TV again. Having played positive and grey characters in a string of shows, the actress is now all set to spew venom on the small screen by taking on a completely dark role in Adhuri Kahaani Humari.
Talking about the project, an excited Rashami says, “I have never played an out-and-out negative character on television before, so I just grabbed the opportunity. The current track will see a huge twist in the show and I am glad my character Preeti bhabhi has been assigned the task of turning the course of events for the lead couple Radhika and Krish”.
Elaborating further on her role, Rashami adds, “It’s a very intense character. She is outright evil. It will be a challenge to play someone like that. Personally, I am quite unlike her. So doing something I cannot imagine doing in real life is definitely giving me a thrill. Hope the audiences like it.”
The actress, who was last seen in Uttaran, has not done fiction in a very long time. Even though there were plenty of offers coming her way, she chose to wait for something substantial. “Hectic shoot schedules took a toll on my health. To make matters worse, my participation in a dance reality show riddled me with lot of injuries, so I prolonged the break. Besides, I wanted something meaty and meaningful to get back to the grind. And fortunately, I got the role of a lifetime which is worth my time and efforts,” says Rashami.
Coincidentally, the actress’ onscreen character in the show has uncanny similarities with the protagonist of the Hollywood flick Gone Girl, which is a husband-wife revenge drama and happens to be one of Rashami’s favourite films.
