Coaches Shaan and Salim Merchant are all set to roll with the second season of The Voice India. Keeping the duo company on the judges’ panel will be singers Benny Dayal and Neeti Mohan. The coaches will slug it out to coax the best among the participating contestants to join their respective teams.

New coach on the block, Salim says, “I’m blessed to have an advantage of being a composer. Somewhere it’s every singer’s dream to work with a composer, so that plays in my favour. Which is why I don’t find the need to convince any contestant to join me.”

Even so, Shaan will continue having an edge over others by virtue of being the favourite with contestants, season after season. Smiles the affectionate coach, “I’m a people’s person and I enjoy getting to know them and figure out what works for them. I’m also very patient. Since I’m extremely passionate about singing, I connect easily with people who share the passion. As a coach, I’m affectionate and friendly with all my team members and would want all of them to do well. I want to ensure all of them sing to the best of their abilities and enjoy every bit of this musical journey.”

Considering Salim and Benny have just joined, will Shaan and Neeti gang up on them? “It seems like a fun thing to do, but no, we are not ganging up against them. Both Salim and Benny are amazingly talented and I hope they have a great time with us on the show. I am already enjoying shooting with them,” concludes Shaan.
