Jethalal to be shown facing cash woes
In the episode, Jethalal gets a big order from an electronic company and painstakingly arranges for the huge amount to pay for it.
The ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes has inconvenienced not just the general public, but actors as well. Therefore, the team of satire-based show, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma came up with the idea of incorporating this track in the show to illustrate the problems it’s caused to the people.
Dilip Joshi, who plays Jethalal, says “Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the ban on the notes, which may be good for the country but it’s inconveniencing everyone. So my producer and the creative team decided to incorporate it. In the episode, Jethalal gets a big order from an electronic company and painstakingly arranges for the huge amount to pay for it. Suddenly he gets the message about the notes being banned and he doesn’t know what to do with the money that’s been rendered useless. I’m sure many people must have faced this problem and will relate to the track. We are also giving the message to not throw away the banned notes but to donate them to temples instead.”
