Though Navina initially started on a positive note, her transition promises to heat things up.

Her character Tia is gradually opening up to being a scheming antagonist in Ishqbaaz. Though Navina initially started on a positive note, her transition promises to heat things up. Navina is particularly kicked about lapping up the change in her character. “The vamp is practically the hero of the show. So essaying the role feels great. Tia’s character has gone through a lot of change — she has gone from being someone really positive, to someone who is serious about getting her man back,” she says.

Navina is happy that the role is giving her a chance to display her acting prowess. She explains, “There is so much to do now for me as an actor. Tia helps me bring out the darker side in me, one that I didn’t know existed.”

So does this mean that she won’t sign up for positive characters any more? “I think any role, be it negative or positive comes, with its own set of challenges. The advantage of playing a positive character is that often I am playing a role that is similar to myself. In negative roles, I am putting myself in someone else’s shoes. I personally find it challenging but that does not mean I won’t be open to playing roles with positive shades,” she signs off.
