The 10-year leap in Udaan saw the adorable Spandan Chaturvedi who immortalised the character of  little Chakor bidding adieu to the show.

After the leap, the character of grown-up Chakor is being played by Meera Deosthale. With Spandan leaving an indelible mark on the character, taking the baton ahead is proving to be a mammoth responsibility for newbie Meera.

Understanding Meera’s predicament well, the perceptive Spandan made it a point to induct her into the character before stepping out. The little girl not only spent quality time with the young actress, teaching her nuances of the character but also helped her pick up the typical UP dialect.

“I am completely bowled over by the energy of Spandan. She actually has answers for everything. She is witty and smart and an absolute live wire on the sets. I am quite baffled by her concern to know if I would be able to do justice to the character. To ensure that I play the part well, she has been going out of her way to help me understand every minute detail of Chakor. I am very grateful to her for taking me around and introducing me to everyone,”says Meera.

The leap will show Chakor transform into an ace athlete. So to look convincing as a sportswoman the young actress is training rigorously at the moment. Revealing her strict regime, Meera says.

“I am working on increasing my stamina. Along with pull-ups and push-ups, my trainer makes me do mountain climbing as well. In addition to this, he makes me run at least five to 10 kilometres everyday. Then in the evening we also do weight training for muscle strength. Honestly, it drains me completely by the end of the day,” adds the actress.
