Television's flop jodis of the year 2016

2016 saw many fizzled out romances on screen. We round up a few of the couples that didn't make the cut.

Update: 2016-12-25 19:20 GMT
Vatsal Seth and Ishita Dutta

Vatsal Seth and Ishita Dutta (Rishton Ka Saudagar Baazigar)
This jodi failed to make a mark despite the hype around their non-dating clause. In fact, the team tried to play up the alleged breaching of the clause (when the couple was in Thailand) but that didn’t help attract any attention either. The show went off air abruptly soon after.

Pearl Puri-Pooja Banerjee and Pooja Banerjee-Anshuman Malhotra (Nagarjun)
The makers tried almost everything to make the show work but nothing caught the pulse of the audience. The original leading pair Pooja and Anshuman didn’t quite make a connection with the viewers, so the makers got Pearl V. Puri to replace Anshuman. Unfortunately, Pearl and Pooja’s chemistry too failed to make any inroads into the audiences’ hearts and the show is now slated to end in January.

Kushal Tandon and Jennifer Winget (Beyhad)
Looking at big names like Kushal Tandon and Jennifer Winget, one would expect the show to score high ratings. But, somehow, the magic of Kushal and Jennifer as a jodi hasn’t been able to hook the audience so far. The dismal ratings drive home the point that the jodi has been a big disappointment this year.

Harshad Arora and Tridha Chakraborty (Dahleez)
The off screen chemistry between lead pair Harshad Arora and Tridha
Chakraborty sadly didn’t work onscreen. The co-stars turned lovers didn’t quite
get a grip over the audience despite a great storyline and strong characters. As a result, the show didn’t deliver when it came to ratings.
