‘Lucky’ by chance!
He is working on two television serials and is also getting ready for his silver screen debut.
After tasting success on the small screen, this actor who is popularly known by his character — Lakshman alias Lucky from Brahmagantu serial, is gearing up for his silver screen debut which is titled Demo Piece. It is produced by none other than actress turned producer Sparsha Rekha. Both Kichcha Sudeep and Challenging Star Darshan, who rose to stardom through Sparsha and Majestic films respectively, consider Rekha as lucky, as she was the heroine in their first mega hit film. Back to the charming lucky actor, Bharath Bopanna, who has been on a dream run since two years on the small screen along with a tele-serial in Telugu titled — Jyothi, a female oriented soap, talks to Bengaluru Chronicle about his debut movie and much more.
“Following the huge popularity of Brahmagantu after which I am recognised by every Kannada television watching household in the state and beyond, I kept getting movie opportunities. However, despite many offers coming my way, I was unable to take them up due to date issues. After almost two years and when the director Vivek, who has worked with the renowned Yogaraj Bhat approached me with a youthful subject, I could not turn it down. The film Demo Piece is not restricted to any particular genre, but has shades of everything, making it more interesting to watch,” says Bharath.
Further, he adds that his luck multiplied after learning that it was being produced by actress Rekha. “Die hard fans of Sandalwood movies are very well aware of Rekha madam. She has been the lucky charm for two huge star actors of the Kananda industry — Darshan and Sudeep sir. Apart from producing, she is also portraying an important role in the movie, which makes my debut even more special.”
Meanwhile, he explains that he had very limited time to prepare himself for the film. “Along with Brahmagantu, I am also busy with the Telugu serial Jyothi which has a sports background webbed around a female protagonist. It is being directed by Suresh Krissna who directed the legendary superstar Rajinikanth in Basha. It was challenging for me to give time to two serials and my debut movie. If I was in Hyderabad, the next day I would return to Bengaluru for my serial and from their I would squeeze in some time to learn the much needed additional skills to face the big screen,” the actor shares.
He even learnt fights from Vikram, who has composed the stunning action sequences in KGF. As Demo Piece is in its last leg before it head for post production, the Coorg lad concludes saying that his mother who was initially sceptical of his journey in the entertainment industry, is very proud of his achievement and so he wishes to scale more heights on the big screen.
