Sarojini to air last episode
It drove a message that if you want to bring real change, it has to begin at home.
Popular TV series Sarojini is all set to bid adieu to its audience and will be going off air this week. The show that traced the journey of Sarojini (played by Shiny Doshi) — a strong, well-educated girl married into a regressive patriarchal set up with a chauvinistic father-in-law (Dushyant, played by Pankaj Tripathi) will air its last episode on April 30th.
Commenting on the show’s end, leading lady Shiny says, “It’s been almost a year that I have been associated with the show. I will surely miss the show and especially my co-stars — Dadiji, Neerajaji (Amma, who I am very attached to), Ketaki, who is more like my sister now and also my best friend, Mohit Sehgal. I will always cherish my journey and the awesome time spent on the sets of this show.”
Shiny further added, “The primary reason I chose this show was that Sarojini truly embodies the spirit and strength of every contemporary Indian woman — she’s confident and bold and at the same time has her family values intact.
It drove a message that if you want to bring real change, it has to begin at home. I am sure every girl has, at some point in the show, related to my character and I would be glad if it has affected the mindset of people regarding the importance of educating girls.”
