Still from the promo

This reaction from him has angered Kamya, who claims that he is trying to use the film’s release to get fame and shame her. “This isn’t about him. He is using the film’s release to promote himself. Hum Kuchh Kah Na Sakey is about my dear friend Pratyusha and the serious issue of depression. The film is about the numerous people that suffer from depression and is an attempt to tell them that there is a way out of it,” says Kamya.

The actress asserts that she doesn’t need her friend’s demise to garner publicity. “I have a certain reputation in the industry. I don’t need a dead friend to garner publicity. Everything I have earned over the years is through hard work and through my strong body of work — which is enough for me.”

The Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki actress doesn’t understand how Rahul is making such statements when he hasn’t bothered to keep up with his ex-girlfriend’s parents. “Who is this Rahul Raj Singh anyway? He’s not Pratyusha’s blood relative or husband. Since her untimely demise, he hasn’t even bothered to reach out to her parents and know how they are doing,” she rues. Amidst all this, she is firm in her decision to release the film come what may. “The film will see its release. I have invested all my time to promote the film with the sole intention that we will hand over all the money that we get, to Pratyusha’s parents. My only concern in life is to make Pratyusha’s parents secure. Rahul is scared because the film coincidentally mirrors Pratyusha’s life and her tryst with depression.”

As far as Rahul’s complaint is concerned, Kamya says she couldn’t bother less. “I haven’t received any intimation from the police so far. I know for sure that it isn’t an FIR and just a hand written complaint. Whatever it is, my lawyers are dealing with it.” The film will be releasing on the late actress’ first death anniversary on April 1, 2017.
